Another person named Amir Hossain (32) died of burns in the blast at Royal Royal Filling Station in the capital. He was the cashier of the filling station. The death toll has increased to three.
He died in the early hours of Monday at the intensive care unit (HDU) of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Amir Hossain Chandpur of Faridganj Thana Sholdana village. Son of Salim Sheikh. Currently, he was living in a rented house in Nakhalpara. Amir was the father of one girl and one boy.
Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute Resident Doctor Tariqul Islam said eight people were admitted to the burn institute from Mohakhali. Amir Hossain Sheikh Hasina, who was under treatment with 35 percent burns, died in the intensive care unit of Burns early today. Earlier, Salahuddin died around 10:15 last night and Khair Mia died around 5:30 pm on Thursday.
Tariqul Islam said that three people died in this incident. Three are currently in intensive care. One is in HDU. The remaining one was discharged with first aid.
The deceased’s brother Mahbub said, ‘My brother was working as a cashier at that filling station. He was burnt during the incident. The doctor told us that his trachea was burnt. He died while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina Burn early today.
Last Wednesday around 8:30 pm, the fire occurred due to the explosion of the Royal Filling Station opposite the Mohakhali Bus Terminal. Eight people were burnt.
