The BNP will hold black flag marches in every district on Friday and in all major cities including the capital Dhaka on Friday to demand the resignation of the government along with rising commodity prices. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi confirmed this information to the media.
Rizvi said, ‘I got a positive attitude of the police in carrying out the program. All our preparations have been made to implement the program.
BNP held a major political program on October 28 last year. On that day, the party held a mass meeting in front of the party office in Naypaltan. But before the start of the rally, BNP activists clashed with the police.
At one point, angry BNP workers attacked the Chief Justice’s residence on Hare Road. At the same time, attacks were carried out on Judges Complex and Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital in Kakrail. The day after the incident, the police arrested several senior leaders, including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on charges of sabotage.
BNP has said that on Friday and Saturday, Democracy Manch, 12 Party Alliance, Nationalist Samana Alliance, Democratic Left Unity, LDP, Labor Party will also hold the same programme.
The procession will start at 2 pm from the party’s central office at Naya Paltan in the capital on Saturday. A letter has already been sent informing the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) about the program. Party Vice Chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury also spoke to top police officers.
