BWF banned BKSP from all football activities for one year on December 10 for irregularities in the registration of players in the third division football and dropping a player who had raised objections to the second division despite being warned about it.
Coach Rabiul Islam and senior football coach Shahinul Haque were banned for one year for their involvement. Besides, four footballers were banned for six matches.
BKSP appealed in this regard. BKSP got relief from ban after appeal. BAFUF’s appeals committee reviewed the matter and revoked BKSP’s punishment yesterday. Apart from this, financial penalties have also been waived.
While the punishment of senior coach Shahinul Haque was lifted, the punishment of another coach, Rabiul Islam, was upheld by BAFUF’s disciplinary committee. BAFFE did not lift the six-match ban of the four accused footballers.
Last August, three BKSP footballers Tasin Sahib, Ihsan Habib and Mohammad Rifat Kazi played for Chawkbazar Kings in the third division of domestic football. But they used the names of three different footballers while registering. At that time they registered as Naimur Rahman, Hasan Miah and Mohammad Zifat.
Meanwhile, BKSP plays second division football. When these three footballers went to register under their real names for their own team, the matter came to the attention of Bafuf. At that time BAFFE directed three footballers not to play for BKSP, while also giving them a show cause notice.
Meanwhile, another footballer named Ikramul Hossain was reported to have registered as Tahsan Hossain in the under-17 tournament. He again played for BKSP in the second division under his own name. When Arambagh protested about this at the end of November, the matter came to Bafuf’s attention. After the investigation, the punishment was given by Buff.
After that BAFFE and BKSP fought in different ways. BKSP expels five footballers from elite academy in Bafuf on charges of salary arrears.
