In India, the ruling political party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has earned the highest income from the sale of electoral bonds. Since the introduction of electoral bonds in 2018, the party has earned around Rs 7,000 crore. Then there is Trinamool, the ruling party of West Bengal. Congress is third. The Indian media NDTV says that the Election Commission has released new information on bonds on Sunday ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. It can be seen that the BJP earned Rs 6,986 crore by selling electoral bonds. Next in the list is not the Congress, but the Trinamool Congress. The income of the ruling party of West Bengal is 1 thousand 397 crore rupees.

According to the list, India’s oldest party Congress has earned Rs 1,334 crore. And the income of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) is 1 thousand 322 crore rupees.

According to the Election Commission of India in their report, Future Gaming and Hotel Services bought the most electoral bonds. They bought the bonds of the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu for Rs 509 crore. Apart from this, MK Stalin’s team received Tk 105 crore from ‘Megha Engineering’ company. Apart from this, the DMK party received Tk 100 crore and Tk 14 crore from ‘Sun TV’ and ‘India Cement’ respectively.

Another Indian media outlet, Anandabazar Patrika, says that the Commission issued a statement on Sunday that the information obtained from the Supreme Court registry has been uploaded on the website.

The bond data released by the commission last Thursday was a list of how many bonds were bought and sold between April 2019 and February 15, 2024. That information was handed over by SBI to the commission. And on Sunday, the information provided by the political parties was made public.
