After Japan’s Narita, China’s Guangzhou and India’s Chennai, Biman’s next destination is Europe. Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ discontinued Rome Italy flight will be resumed in March. For this reason, the route plan is being decided along with the appointment of GSA, said the aviation authority.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines MD Shafiul Azim gave this information in a dialogue organized by Aviation and Tourism Journalist Forum on Thursday morning.
The MD said that all preparations are being completed for the launch of Italy’s Rome flight in March. Strict action will be taken against any airman who neglects passenger service.
Mohammad Salahuddin, director of Biman’s marketing department, said that they will run three flights a week in the first phase. Passengers can reach their destination within 8 to 10 hours. However, he said that it has not yet been decided whether there will be a direct flight from Dhaka or transit.
Shafiul Azim, managing director of Biman, said that besides increasing the route, work is also being done to ensure passenger service. He also said that if anyone, including expatriate passengers, neglects their duties, they should be severely punished.
Besides, capacity is being increased to use Sylhet and Chittagong airports as hubs to ensure proper use of aircraft on specific routes. He also said that the passengers will be able to reach their destination easily.
