Biman Bangladesh Airlines is optimistic about starting flights to New York from next April. This is what the state agency is hoping for by taking various security measures at Shahjalal International Airport.

Shafiul Azim, managing director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, said, “We made the final application in May. Now their Federal Aviation Authority is looking into the safety issue. It is expected that the flights will be launched next April.
In the security monitoring core of Shahjalal Airport in early December last year, the United States expressed satisfaction in several aspects. Besides, he also said that discussions have been held with the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing on some issues including the launch of flights.
M Mofidur Rahman, chairman of BabyChak, said that their Federal Aviation Authority has monitored the security of the airport. We have given them our utmost cooperation. They also expressed satisfaction in many aspects.
Earlier, Biman flights operated on Dhaka-New York route, but it was stopped in 2006 due to economic crisis.
