1 thousand 151 platoons of BGB have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order during the election. They will be in the field till January 10.

Shariful Islam said that 1 thousand 151 platoons of BGB have been deployed all over the country including the capital to make the 12th National Parliament elections free, fair and peaceful.
The BGB will work as a mobile and striking force to maintain peace and order in the electoral areas of the country including Dhaka till January 10 to assist the local civil administration.
Meanwhile, a letter sent by the Armed Forces Department signed by Brigadier General HM Masihur Rahman on behalf of the Principal Staff Officer revealed that the armed forces will be in the polling field from January 3 to January 10 by forming a coordination cell on December 29.
The letter said, ‘The armed forces will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure and other laws and in accordance with the provisions of Article 7 and 10 of the Instruction Regarding Aid to the Civil Power issued by the Ministry of Defence.’
