Benapole Petrapole Land Port is closed for import and export between Bangladesh and India on public holidays including International Customs Day and Republic Day of India. However, the travel of passengers with passports between the two countries is normal.

Meanwhile, thousands of trucks loaded with goods are standing in the port areas of the two countries due to the suspension of import and export.
Rezaul Karim said that import and export are closed on government holidays in India and Bangladesh. The Indian empty truck returned after unloading the goods till late on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, International Customs Day was celebrated in Benapole through various ceremonies. On the occasion of this day, Custom House Benapole organizes various programs throughout the day. Miss Farzana Afroz, member of the National Board of Revenue, started the day auspiciously by flying balloons and pigeons at 10:30 am.
