It is known that ahead of the election, an exchange meeting was organized on behalf of Awami League candidate Abul Hasem Khan at Gosaipur Madrasa of Burichong Upazila on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, the leaders and activists present on behalf of MP Hashem Khan started marching with slogans. Executive Magistrate Shamiul Islam came there after receiving the news. During the presence of MP Hashem Khan, he was fined 5 thousand rupees by a mobile court, accusing him of violating the election code of conduct.
Executive Magistrate Assistant Commissioner (Land) confirmed the matter. Shamiul Islam said, “Political parties and candidates have been fined Tk 5,000 as per rule-18 for violating rule 12 of the rules of conduct of political parties and candidates in the parliamentary elections.”
He also said, ‘If someone conducts election campaign before the official election campaign starts, it is a violation of the code of conduct. Any candidate on this charge will be fined in the mobile court.
