Bangladeshi killed in border firing by BSF

A Bangladeshi named Rabiul Islam Tuklu was killed in border security force (BSF) firing at Angurpota border of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat.

The deceased was the son of Afzal Hossain of Dangapara village in Banger Bazar area of ‚Äč‚ÄčTuklu Patgram. He was a cattle trader.

Officer-in-charge of Patgram police station Ferdous Wahid said that the incident took place near Main Pillar No. 1 of Angur Pota BOP border around 4 o’clock. Rabiul Islam was shot dead by a BSF patrol on the Indian side when some Bangladeshi cattle traders entered India to fetch Indian cattle. Others ran away.

The officer-in-charge also said that after the incident, with the help of BSF, Mekhligonj police station of Cooch Behar recovered the body and took it to police custody. There is no news of any flag meeting at the BGB or BSF level in this regard.
