Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen pledged that Bangladesh will continue to support the seven priorities of the United Nations (UN) Secretary General’s peacekeeping agenda.

Dr. AK Abdul Momen said, ‘Our policy stance is rooted in the foreign policy ideals of our Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which acts as a guiding force for us. This position consistently compels us to actively participate in UN peace efforts, including promoting a culture of peace, contributing to peacekeeping operations and supporting peacebuilding.’

The foreign minister was speaking as a UN peacekeeping ministerial panelist in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday.

The Foreign Minister, leading a high-level Bangladesh delegation, pledged peacekeeping on behalf of Dhaka at the UN peacekeeping ministerial level. Earlier, the Bangladesh foreign minister held a cabinet sideline meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijártó.

The two foreign ministers discussed various matters of mutual interest in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
