‘Bangamata’ is a short film made on Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib. After its release in August last year, it moved the audience. This time the movie is being screened in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s ‘Ganajagaran Film Festival’. Today Saturday at 4 pm in 63 districts of the country, the audience will see it in the Shilpakala Academy auditorium.

It is known that the length of this film made by the Ministry of Culture is 29 minutes. It is produced by Gautam Kairi based on the novel ‘Bangamata: History’s Hidden Soldier’ ​​by writer Khorshed Bahar. Screenplay written by Nasreen Mustafa.

Jyotika Jyoti played the role of Bangamata in the movie. Monir Ahmed is in the role of Bangabandhu. Lavanya Chowdhury plays Sheikh Hasina’s teenage role. Other roles include Shobhan Das, Farzana Pichar, Khalilur Rahman Quadri and others.

Jyotika Jyoti said, “I feel privileged to be a part of history by playing the title role in the movie ‘Bangamata’.” Due to its short duration, the film was difficult to reach a large audience. Now comes a great opportunity. I am very impressed.”

Apart from this, the movie ‘Bangamata’ will be screened tomorrow on December 31 at 5:30 PM at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s Jatiya Chitrashala Auditorium in the capital.

Incidentally, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnecha, wife of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was born on August 8, 1930 in Tungipara of the then Gopalganj subdivision. His nickname was Renu. Father’s name is Sheikh Zahurul Haque and mother’s name is Hosne Ara Begum. He was the youngest among one brother and two sisters.
