Attack on Chief Justice’s residence: Fakhrul’s bail denied

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s bail plea has been rejected by the court in the case filed by the police regarding the attack on the Chief Justice’s residence.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farzana Shakila rejected the bail application of Sumu Chowdhury after the court hearing on Thursday.

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Syed Zainul Abedin conducted the bail hearing on behalf of Mirza Fakhrul. It was opposed by the state. After hearing both parties, the court rejected the remand request.

On October 28, sabotage activities were carried out at the residence of the Chief Justice, centered on the BNP’s general meeting. A case was filed against Mirza Fakhrul and 59 leaders and workers of BNP in Ramna police station. Later on October 29, Mirza Fakhrul was arrested by the detective police. Since then he has been in prison.
