Armed Police Battalion (APBN) assistant sub-inspector Sagar Hawladar, suspended on corruption charges, has been sent to jail by the court.
When he came to surrender in the court of Cox’s Bazar Senior District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Shahin Uddin on Sunday, the judge ordered him to be sent to jail without bail.
ACC lawyer Abdur Rahim said, considering the merits of the case, the learned judge denied bail and sent the accused to jail. The next date of the case has been fixed on February 28.
According to the statement of the case, ASI Sagar Hawladar, who is in charge of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) assigned to protect the Rohingyas in Ukhia, embezzled Tk 3 lakh 12 thousand 904 by creating 30 fake salary bills from February 11, 2020 to February 25.
Tushar Ahmed, Assistant Director of Cox’s Bazar Integrated District Office of ACC, filed the case in his office on the afternoon of October 18 last year.
