Rakib Hossain, Jatiya Party candidate for Lakshmipur-3 seat, has announced his withdrawal from the 12th National Assembly elections, alleging lack of fair environment and black money. He announced this in a press conference at his election office in Jhumur area of ​​the district city on Thursday afternoon.

At that time, Rakib Hossain said, ‘farce elections are being held all over the country. The common people of Lakshmipur have turned away from the elections. Only a privileged few have kept the electoral field hot.’

He also complained and said, ‘There is widespread spread of black money in the elections. Due to the influence of black money, agents are not being given at the centre. My posters have been torn down in various places. Complaints were made to the Returning Officer in this regard but no remedy was found. Therefore, due to the lack of a fair environment, I withdrew from the election on the instructions of the Centre.’

Also present at the press conference were district Jatiya Party organizer Mohiuddin Khokon, Literary Affairs Secretary Salahuddin Emran, Information and Research Nizam Uddin Khan, District Member Minhazur Rahman Bintu, Municipal Jatiya Party Deputy General Secretary Md. Salah Uddin Khokon.
