The mother of another child who died due to ‘wrong treatment’ at the United Medical College Hospital in Satarkul in the capital has appeared in the High Court. On Thursday, the woman came to the High Court to express solidarity with Ayaan’s father Shamim Ahmed.
The woman claimed that her child also died in 2015 due to United’s wrong treatment.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health has not submitted the investigation report on the death of baby Ayaan at the United Medical College Hospital to the High Court. The High Court has ordered submission by next Sunday. The court will order later that day.
On December 31, a 5-year-old child, Ayan, was taken for Sunnah circumcision at the Baddar United Hospital in the capital. Ayan was circumcised under anesthesia on the advice of doctors. After being under treatment for 8 days, the hospital authorities declared him dead on January 7.
Ayan’s family filed a case at Badda police station on January 9 in the incident. Dr. United Hospital in the statement of the case. Sabbir, Dr. Tasnuva Mahzabeen and hospital director along with unidentified officials involved in the incident were accused.
Yasin Gazi, officer in charge of Badda police station, said, ‘A case has been taken based on the complaint of Ayan’s family, action will be taken after the investigation. ‘
Earlier, advocate ABM Shahjahan Akand Masum of the Supreme Court filed a writ in the High Court seeking a direction to pay one crore compensation to the family of the child Ayaan in the morning of January 9.
The health department formed a 4-member committee to investigate the negligence of the doctors in Ayan’s death.
