An independent candidate backed Mashrafe

Syed Faizul Ameer Litu, an independent candidate of the Narail-2 seat truck symbol, withdrew from the 12th National Parliament election by supporting the former captain of the national cricket team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Today, at around 11:30 am on Wednesday, he held a press conference at his residence in Narail town and announced his withdrawal from the election.

He cited physical illness, not getting enough time for the election and family reasons as reasons for withdrawing from the election.

It should be noted that Syed Faizul Amir Litu was the former General Secretary of Lohagra Upazila Awami League and the former Chairman of Lohagra Upazila Parishad. When he submitted his nomination as an independent candidate, it was cancelled, later on December 28, he was reinstated through a court order.

As Syed Faizul Amir Litu stepped down, a total of 7 candidates will compete in Narail-2 seat. Among them, Bangladesh Awami League’s Mashrafe Bin Murtaza (boat), Workers Party’s Sheikh Hafizur Rahman (hammer), Jatiya Party’s Khandkar Faykuzzaman (plow), NPP’s Md. Monirul Islam (Mango), Public Front. Latifur Rahman (fish), Islami Oikyazot Md. Mahbubur Rahman (Minar), Independent Md. Nur Islam (Eagle) symbol will fight.

Total voters in Narail-2 constituency are 3 lakh 65 thousand 729 people. Among them 1 lakh 81 thousand 990 male voters and 1 lakh 83 thousand 736 female voters.
