BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury got bail in one case of Ramna Model Police Station and another of Paltan Model Police Station in the capital. The court fixed January 24 for further hearing in two more cases of those two police stations without bail.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain gave this order after the court hearing on Sunday.
Earlier on this day, a hearing was held regarding the bail of Amir Khosro in four cases. Asaduzzaman held a bail hearing on his behalf. It was opposed by the state.
After the hearing of both parties, the court is waiting for the order. Later in the afternoon, the court granted bail in two cases with a fine of Tk 10,000. The court fixed January 24 for further hearing in the other two cases.
The lawyer of the accused Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah confirmed this information.
Earlier on Wednesday, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury got bail in two cases of Paltan police station. The next day, the court granted him bail in four more cases. The bail hearing was postponed on Sunday due to lack of documents in four cases.
It is known that Amir Khosru was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) from his home in Gulshan at around 1:15 a.m. on November 2. The court granted his 6-day remand on November 3. He was sent to prison after remand on November 9. He has been in prison ever since.
