Alleged attack on police car from BNP rally in Dhamrai, arrest 3

Allegations of attack and vandalism on police vehicles have arisen from BNP’s election boycott and non-cooperation movement march in Dhaka’s Dhamrai. According to the police, 3 policemen were injured in the attack. Three people have been arrested in this incident.

This incident took place in front of Gazi Market in Kalampur Bazar of Sutipara Union of the upazila around 7:30 am on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses said that when the BNP procession came out in Kalampur area in the morning, the police stopped them. At that time, when some members of BNP were arrested, they attacked and vandalized a police car.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhamrai Police Station Sirajul Islam Sheikh said that stones were thrown at the police car from the BNP procession in the morning. At this time, three of our policemen were injured. They were treated at a local hospital.

The police officer also said that three people were arrested at that time. Sirajul Islam could not tell their identity immediately. The legal matter in this incident is under process.
