A fake toll plaza was discovered on the Bamanbor-Kutch National Highway in the Indian state of Gujarat. It has been alleged that some powerful people have been cheating the government for almost one and a half years by constructing this fake toll plaza. This information was given in a report of Indian media NDTV.

The manager of the government-approved Vargasia toll plaza on that highway said that private land owners have been openly extorting thousands of rupees daily for about one and a half years.

Morbi District Collector G T Pandya said, “We have received information that some vehicles are being diverted from the original route at Vargasia toll plaza and toll tax is being collected.” Police and other officials reached the spot to investigate and filed a detailed complaint.

Police have registered a complaint against Amarshi Patel, owner of White House Ceramics Company, Banraj Singh Jhala, Harvijay Singh Jhala, Dharmendra Singh Jhala, Yuvraj Singh Jhala and several unidentified persons.

Officials said powerful people in the area used to extort extortion from truck drivers and force them to pay toll.
