In Sirajganj’s Belkuchi, independent candidate former minister Abdul Latif Biswas’s supporter Sumon Hitler has been accused of attack and vandalism of election office. In this incident, there is tension in Belkuchi of Sirajganj-5 constituency. Additional police have been deployed to control the situation.

The incident took place around 3.30 pm on Thursday at College Mor Karitala area of ​​Belkuchi town area.

According to the police and eyewitness sources, around Thursday afternoon, a group of people led by Habibur Rahman, the general secretary of Upazila Chhatra League, supporters of boat symbol, attacked and vandalized the election camp of independent candidate Abdul Latif Biswas. At that time, Suman Hitler, a supporter of the eagle symbol, took his motorcycle and his motorcycle was vandalized. At that time, he was beaten with a stick.

On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. Suman Hitler is the son of Haji Saidul Islam of Mukundaganti village. No one has filed a complaint in the police station yet.

Victim Sumon Hitler said, ‘Because I selected the Eagle Bird marker as an independent candidate, some people including General Secretary of Upazila Chhatra League Habibur Rahman Habib came and attacked me. Before that, they vandalized the election office of Eagle Bird in Karai Tala area.

Meanwhile, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Shibani Sarkar, who is managing the electoral mobile court, said, ‘We have visited the scene based on verbal complaints. However, I have not received any written complaint in this regard so far. Legal action will be taken if complaints are received.’

Belkuchi police station officer-in-charge (OC) Anichur Rahman said, ‘We have sent the police to the spot after receiving the news. Now the atmosphere there is calm. Additional police have been deployed to ensure that no unpleasant atmosphere is created there.’
