Allegation of vandalism of election camp of independent candidate in Natore-2 constituency

Miscreants have vandalized the election camp of Awami League vice-president and former state minister Ahad Ali Sarkar, the independent candidate of Natore-2 seat in the 12th National Parliament election. This incident took place in Dattapara market of Sadar upazila around 7:30 pm today.

Since the incident, there has been tension in the area.

Meanwhile, after getting information about the incident, independent candidate of truck symbol Ahad Ali Sarkar along with District Awami League General Secretary Shariful Islam Ramzan, police and senior administration officials visited the scene.

General Secretary of District Awami League Shariful Islam Ramzan demanded that those involved in this incident be quickly arrested and brought under the law.

Truck symbol independent candidate Ahad Ali Sarkar refused to make any complaint in this regard. He said, ‘He did not see who vandalized his election camp. But whoever did it, he demanded a proper investigation into the incident. He himself is afraid of the current situation in his constituency.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Natore Sadar Police Station, Mizanur Rahman said, ‘In Dattapara, after getting the news that the election camp of an independent candidate’s truck symbol was vandalized, the scene was visited. Action will be taken if complaints are received.’
