Allegations of attack by BNP leaders and activists in Awami League supported boat procession in front of Jhauchar raw market in Kamrangirchar of the capital. Two people were injured in this incident. This incident happened on Friday around 6:30 p.m.
The injured are – Md. Tanveer (22) and Md. Shiva (30). Tanveer Kamrangirchar is the son of deceased Abul Hossain of Jawlahati and Shiva Kamrangirchar is the son of Abdur Rob Mia of Nayagaon area.
Currently, the injured are under treatment at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital.
Masud Hossain, the brother-in-law who brought the injured to the hospital, said that the election campaign procession of Advocate Kamrul Islam, the Awami League nominated candidate for Dhaka-2 seat, was taken out in Jhaulahati area of Kamrangirchar this afternoon.
At this time, BNP workers ambushed with sharp weapons from behind the procession. Awami League workers Tanveer and Shiva were injured. Later they were quickly rescued and brought to Dhaka Medical.
In charge of police camp of DMK Hospital. Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter by quoting the doctor. He said that two Awami League supporters from Kamrangirchar were seriously injured in a stabbing and came to our Dhaka Medical Center and they were treated in the emergency department. The doctor said that their condition is critical. They are currently under observation in the emergency department. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
