Amazon Prime’s popular web series ‘Poacher’ is awaiting release. Directed by ‘Delhi Crime’ famous Canadian director Richie Mehta. And Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt signed up as executive producer.
The good news was announced today (February 6) by streaming giant Prime Video. It is known that Pochar is based on a true story. The investigative crime series follows a gang of poachers who poach elephants and smuggle the tusks.
Alia Bhatt’s production company Eternal Sunshine shared the news on their Instagram, writing, ‘The forest has uncovered a deadly conspiracy behind the silence… and the hunt for the victim begins!’
Talking about joining the series, Alia told Variety, “It is an honor for me and the entire team of Eternal Sunshine to be a part of this important project. Richie’s portrayal of issues like wildlife crime resonated with us. Its story really moved me, especially when I found out it was based on a true story, which brought attention to the brutal crimes taking place in our forests. I believe it will open everyone’s eyes, give a strong message to be more compassionate and considerate of all living beings.”
In addition to Aaliyah, the series is executive produced by Edward H. Humm Jr., Raymond Mansfield, Sean McKittrick. It is jointly produced by QC Entertainment, Suitable Pictures, Poor Men’s Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions.
Note that this original series of Amazon Prime is based on the story of environmental protection and illegal smuggling. Along with directing, the story is written by director Richie Mehta himself. Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Divyandu Bhattacharya and others are in the cast. It will be released on February 23 in English, Hindi and Malayalam languages.
