The police recovered the hanging body of a man named Abu Mohammad Alauddin (47) hanging from a tree in Nandipara, Khilgaon of the capital.
Alauddin was taken unconscious to Dhaka Medical College (Dhamek) Hospital around 10 am on Monday and declared dead by the doctor in charge of the emergency department.
Alauddin was working in the power house of Tangail Sadar. He is the son of Yar Mohammad Ishaq of House No. 30, School Road No. 1, Khilgaon.
According to the police, they went to the spot after receiving the news. There, Alauddin’s body was found hanging with a rope around a tree next to the house. Later, he was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, where the doctor declared him dead.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Inspector (SI) of Khilgaon Police Station Syed Ruhul Amin said, ‘In the preliminary investigation, we have come to know that Alauddin was posted to Tangail Sadar Power House a few days ago from the office of Dhaka Power House. There is a discussion with the office boss only about his theft. Later, he came back to Dhaka out of anger and pride and committed this incident this morning.’
SI said, ‘Nevertheless, his body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Legal process is ongoing in this regard.’
