Artificial intelligence or AI is one of the most talked about topics in the world throughout the outgoing year 2023. AI-based innovation has caught everyone’s attention even in the medical, communication, financial sector, entertainment or environment-friendly technology sectors. At the end of the year, it was indicated that AI is telling you when you will die.

From the beginning of human civilization, one of the basic questions that revolves around our thoughts is when will we die? Although inevitable in every human life, no one knows when death will happen. No astrologer in the world dares to predict death. This time the AI successfully performed that adventure. It is claimed that artificial intelligence can accurately predict when you will die.

Scientists at the Technical University of Denmark developed this AI model. They said, for now, the model has been developed using the personal data of the people of Denmark. They analyzed health and workplace data on 6 million citizens collected from 2008 to 2020. Data on citizens’ education, income, occupation and number of visits to doctors, number of hospitalizations, outcomes of various health treatments were analysed. The researchers then converted that data into words and fed them into a large language-based AI model called ‘LifeTuvec’.

An article about the research was published in the journal Nature Computational Science. In the next phase of the study, the researchers tested whether the AI model could accurately predict human mortality using the data they provided. For this, the researchers collected the data of a group of people aged 35 to 65 years. Half of these people died between 2016 and 2020. Given their data, the AI model was asked to predict who lived and who died. The results come as a surprise. AI predicted correctly 78 percent of the time.

According to Sune Lehmann, one of the researchers of this study, more important than the accurate prediction of AI, this study proves that it is possible to consider human life as a long sequence of events. How a sentence is made up of multiple words. Human life is also arranged with such different events.

LifeTuvec predicts that people in leadership positions or higher incomes are more likely to live longer. Men, on the other hand, have a higher risk of death if they have higher abilities or mental illness. In this case an attempt is made to predict the future of a person based on his past history and events.
