Mahiya Mahi, famous actress of ‘Agni’, has been finalized for the election after various incidents. He is running as an independent candidate for Rajshahi-1 (Godagari-Tanore) constituency in the upcoming 12th National Assembly Elections. He started his new journey by placing wreaths at the tomb of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
Today (December 12) election work started from here. Mahi himself confirmed this.
He said, ‘I started my election activities by placing wreaths and praying at the grave of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. I want everyone to pray for me, that I may win the elections on January 7 with a large number of votes; I can serve the people of my constituency.’
Earlier, Mahi, an independent candidate, appealed to the Election Commission and returned his candidature. His nomination paper was declared valid at the appeal hearing of Election Commission in Dhaka.
After that, Mahi said in front of the reporters, “I was tensed whether I will get justice!” But I had confidence. Because I was honest from my place. Today I got the reward for that. I have started to believe 100% that a fair election is going to be held under this Election Commission.’
