Babar Azam has come to play for the first time in BPL. The Pakistani batsman, who played for Rangpur Riders for the first time today, also won the team with a great fifty in the match against Sylhet Strikers. There is no shortage of excitement for the cricket lovers of Bangladesh, it is natural to be excited. There is a lot of interest in Babar’s BPL campaign in Pakistan as well.
However, on the first day of Babar’s BPL, a small mistake has spread on social media. Babar’s appearance has changed! Babar Azam went to the forest Benny Howell!
The fact is that Rangpur lost 6 wickets in 39 runs to the target of 121 runs given by Sylhet, but Babar and Azmatullah Omarzai’s unbroken partnership of 86 runs won the match in the seventh wicket. When the pair reached 50, the graphics of the two batsmen flashed on the TV. Babar’s contribution to the 49-ball 51-run partnership till then was 42 from 41 balls, Omarzai’s 26 from 24 balls.
The picture in place of Babar in that graphic is actually Sylhet Strikers batsman Benny Howell. Pakistani journalist Farid Khan posted a screengrab of the graphic moment on social media X (formerly Twitter). He wrote in the caption, ‘Babar Azam looks a little different in these graphics!’
A few minutes later, Farid Khan highlighted the mistake in Babar’s name in another post. That is not BPL’s fault but a fan’s fault. A young woman came to the gallery with Babar’s name written on her cheek, but in the English spelling of Babar’s name where there are two ‘A’s, the young woman wrote ‘BABOR!’
