After being closed for 6 and a half hours due to dense fog, ferry service has started on Daulatdia-Paturia route. Today Tuesday morning at around 6:30 a.m. when the fog clears, the ferry service starts.

Earlier, ferries were stopped from 12 midnight to avoid marine accidents due to dense fog. At that time, a ferry got stuck in the middle of the river. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded in an area of two kilometers due to the suspension of ferry services. Drivers and passengers suffer.

Passengers said that due to the fog, they are sitting in the car and waiting from night till morning to reach their destination.

According to Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) ghat authorities, the ferry service was stopped at 12 midnight to avoid accidents when the river course was obscured by thick fog. Some vehicles got stuck in the ghat area as the ferry service was stopped. Due to this, drivers and passengers suffer in winter. Once the fog clears, the ferry service starts from 6:30 am. There are 17 small and big ferries on this route.
