Actress Tanuja admitted to ICU

Veteran Bollywood actress Tanuja is undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Juhu Hospital. He was taken there on Sunday (December 17) afternoon. He was admitted to the ICU as his condition worsened.

Hospital sources told news agency PTI that the actress is suffering from old age problems. He is currently under the observation of doctors. No worries, now the actress is better than ever.

Actress Tanuja’s full name is Tanuja Samarth. She is the daughter of director Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhana Samarth. Tanuja got married to director Samu Mukherjee in 1973. Their two daughters are Kajal and Tanisha.

Tanuja started acting in 1950 with her sister Nutan in the film ‘Hamari Beti’. In 1960, he acted in ‘Chabili’, which was directed by his mother Shobhana. In 1961, Tanuja played the lead role in the film ‘Hamari Yaad Ayegi’.

This actress worked parallely in Bengali and Hindi films in the sixties. In 1963, he acted in the film ‘Deya Neya’ opposite Uttam Kumar. Apart from this, his acting in ‘Anthony Firingi’, ‘Tin Bhuvaner Pare’, ‘Pratham Kadam Phool’ and ‘Rajkumari’ are notable in Bengali cinema.

Among the Hindi films starring Tanuja are ‘Bahare Phir Vi Aayengi’, ‘Jewel Thief’, ‘Hati Mere Saathi’ and ‘Mere Jiban Saathi’. In 1967, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Jewel Thief’. In 1969, he received the Filmfare for ‘Paysa Ya Pair’.
