Jatrabari Hanif flyover of the capital was hit by a private car. A motorcyclist named Shaheen (22) died. A friend of his named Azim was also injured in this incident. The doctor said that his condition is critical.
The accident took place on the slopes of Hanif flyover Dholaipar today at around 8 am on Friday. Later, when the two were brought to the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital with serious injuries, the doctor in charge of the emergency department declared Shaheen dead.
Shaheen’s friend Shaon said that Shaheen and Azim are friends. Shaheen is a bike mechanic by profession and Azim sells motorcycle parts. Both of them live in Bangshal area. In the morning, two friends went out on a motorcycle. On reaching Dholai Par Dhal at Hanif flyover, both were thrown from the motorcycle by a private car and seriously injured. Later, passers-by rescued both of them and took them to DMK Hospital where doctors declared Shaheen dead. Azim is currently undergoing treatment in the emergency department. The doctor said that his condition is critical.
Confirming the matter, DMK Hospital Police Camp Inspector Bachchu Mia said, two youths were brought to the hospital in a road accident at Hanif flyover. Among them, a young man named Shaheen was declared dead by the doctor. The injured youth is being treated in the emergency department. I have reported the matter to Jatrabari police station.
