A college student named Tanmoy (22) died after losing control of his motorcycle on Sirajdikhan Kuchia Mara highway road in Munshiganj. In this incident, two other youths named Hriday and Shaheen were seriously injured.
The accident happened around 3 pm on Friday. Later, when they were brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a stupor, the emergency department doctor declared Tanmoy dead.
Tanmoy is the son of Masud Khan of Munshiganj. He is a second year student of Raihan College, Azimpur.
Tanmoy’s sister-in-law Sohag said, ‘Three friends went to Mawa Ghat to eat hilsa on a motorcycle at night. At that time, Tanmoy himself was driving a motorcycle. On the way back from there, the motorcycle lost control due to excessive speed and fell on the side of the road in Kuchia Mara area. Later, when they were brought to Dhaka Medical from the spot, the doctor declared Tanmoy dead.
Both Hridiya and Shaheen were seriously injured in the incident and their right knees were separated. They have been sent to the on-duty doctor Paralympic Hospital.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp in-charge Md Bachchu Mia said, ‘The body has been kept in the hospital’s emergency department morgue. Two other seriously injured people have been referred to Paralympic Hospital. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
