A schoolboy died after being hit by a friend’s stick in Badda

A school student named Md Salman Khan alias Ferdous (17) died after being hit by a friend’s stick and pushed against the wall in front of Hossain Market in the capital Badda. Salman was a ninth standard student of Badda International School. Son of Shah Alam Mia of Balmantar Char village, Nawabganj, Dhaka. He was the youngest among three brothers and one sister. At present, they were living in Badda area with their family.

The incident took place on Saturday around 3 pm. Later, he was brought unconscious to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around five in the afternoon.

Shakeel, elder brother of the deceased student, said, ‘Salman was a ninth grade student of Badda International School. Volunteers were working in that school since morning on the occasion of Victory Day. At noon he came home, ate rice and went to school again. Then after Asr prayer, they heard that his brother had been beaten up and left injured on the street. After getting the news, we rescued him from the spot and first we took him to a local hospital. Later, when he was brought to Dhaka Medical for better treatment, the doctor in charge said that my brother is no longer alive.

His family said that the juvenile accused in this incident is detained at Badda police station. In this regard, he was not found even after contacting the officer in charge of Badda police station several times.

DMK Hospital police camp in-charge Md Bachchu Mia confirmed the death of Kishore Salman quoting the doctor. He informed. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the emergency department of the hospital. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
