Two people were killed when a private car collided with a road divider at Kaliakore in Gazipur. The accident took place at Chandra Palli Vidyut area around 4:30 am on Sunday.

The deceased are Abu Taher (57) son of Abdul Quddus of Kanchbaria village of Sonaimuri police station of Noakhali district and Ibrahim son of Abdul Hai Patwari of Kalyanpur village of Laxmipur.

Shahadat Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Naojor Highway Police Station said, the private car was going from Gaibandha to Dhaka with five passengers. On the way, the private car collided with the road divider when it reached the Chandra Palli electricity area of ​​the Dhaka-Tangail highway. This causes the front part of the private car to twist. Abu Taher and Ibrahim, the passengers of the private car, died on the spot.

Stating that the other three passengers in the private car are unharmed, this police officer said that after receiving the information about the accident, the police went to the spot and recovered the body and the private car involved in the accident and brought it to the police station.

However, it is not known what caused the accident. Shahadat Hossain also said that the bodies will be handed over to the relatives after the legal process.
