Miscreants detonated a cocktail in front of the house of Awami League Member of Parliament of Chapainawabganj-3 Constituency and candidate for the 12th National Parliament Election, Abdul Odud. No one was injured in the incident on Saturday night.
The explosion took place in front of MP Odud’s house on Jhelim Road in Chapainawabganj city.
Abdul Odud was not in the house at the time of the explosion. He used this house as a political office.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station, Mintu Rahman, said, ‘At around 8:30 p.m., unknown miscreants escaped after exploding two cocktails in a row. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot and collected evidence.’
The OC commented that miscreants may have exploded the cocktail to spread panic.
Before this, there were two cocktail explosions at the Chapainawabganj district election office on November 28, at the house of Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM) candidate Abdul Mateen on December 2, and at the tennis ground next to the residence of the Deputy Commissioner on December 4.
