Police seized 8,100 kilograms of stolen Indian sugar in 169 sacks in Feni. One person was arrested by the police.
These stolen sugars were seized from an under-construction building in Hasanpur area next to Anandpur Union Parishad of Fulgazi upazila bordering Feni on Sunday.
According to the police, these sugars that entered Bangladesh through the border at different times were stored in the building. The arrested person’s name is Mamun Majumdar. At that time, two others escaped after being chased by the police.
Inspector (OC) of Fulgazi police station Nizam Uddin said that the police seized the stolen goods by raiding on the basis of secret information. The estimated market value of seized stolen goods is around Tk 10 lakh.
