Eight bus passengers including two drivers were injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Manikdah area of Nagarkanda, Faridpur. The accident took place on the Faridpur-Barisal highway around 7:30 am today, Wednesday.
Confirming the incident, SI Sharif Liton of Faridpur Kotyali Police Station said that a Golden Line Paribahan bus from Dhaka reached the spot at around 7:30 in the morning and collided head-on with the Biswas Exclusive bus from Faridpur to Madaripur.
Although no one was killed, at least 8 people including the drivers of the two buses were injured. He said that the injured have been admitted to Faridpur Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital.
SI Sharif Liton also said that after the accident, traffic jam was created on both sides of the highway for about one and a half hours. Later the police came and brought the situation under control.
Besides, a Muksadpur-bound bus leaving Faridpur lost control and hit the back of the Madaripur-bound bus. No one in the bus was injured in this incident.
