Seven more of the Myanmar Border Guards (BGPs) who took refuge in Bangladesh have been admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. They were brought to Cox’s Bazar from Ukhia on Monday morning.
Earlier, two were admitted on Sunday night. 9 people have been admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital. All of them fled to Bangladesh through the Myanmar border with bullet wounds.
The BGP members undergoing treatment at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital after being shot are – Ja Ni Mong, Nim Line King, Kye Thin Sin, Yeo Pho, Mong Ro, Mulyun Thong, Kin Mong J. Apart from this, several others have reportedly been admitted to the MSF Hospital in Kutupalong.
Meanwhile, Shariful Islam, Public Relations Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), said that due to the conflict in Myanmar, the situation in the border area of Naikxyongchari Upazila of Bandarban is stagnant. At least 95 members of the BGP fled the border guarding forces of Myanmar through the Tumbru border of the upazila and took refuge in Bangladesh.
Shariful Islam said, BGB has disarmed BGP members who entered Bangladesh and taken them to safe shelter. Among them, 15 injured BGP members have been treated.
