50 thousand rupees fine for giving treatment without certificate in Sherpur

A traveling court has fined a fake doctor named Shikha Rani Devi (37) Rs 50,000 while providing treatment without BMDC registration in Nakla, Sherpur. On Monday afternoon, the mobile court was run by Nakla Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shihabul Arif.

It is known that Shikha Rani Devi has been treating patients of different ages from children to the parents medical hall given by her for a long time by writing doctor before her name on the second floor of Latif Manson in Holpotri area of ‚Äč‚ÄčNakla city.

Upazila Health Complex medical officer Dr. Wali Ullah said, “Shikha Rani Devi has been cheating for a long time in the name of medical services by using doctor before the name without registration of BMDC.” A doctor must be registered with BMDC to provide medical services. Shikha Rani Devi could not show any BMDC registration. So the mobile court fined him 50 thousand taka.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate. Shihabul Arif said, ‘Shikha Rani Devi’ is seeing patients using doctor before name without registration of BMDC and giving prescriptions to patients using doctor’s seal. For this he was fined 50 thousand taka under section 29 (1) of the Medical and Dental Council Act 2010. Such operations will continue in public interest.’

At this time, the medical officer of Upazila Health Complex was with Dr. Md. Members of the police department including Wali Ullah.
