5 hand grenades recovered in Madaripur

Police recovered 5 hand grenades in Madaripur. Later, expert team came from Dhaka and defused the bomb. The incident took place in Bara Meher village of Mustafapur union of Sadar upazila around 9 pm on Saturday.

According to the police and local sources, there was a dispute over the supremacy of Enamul Darji with Iqbal Darji of Barameh village of Mustafapur Union of Sadar Upazila. Due to this dispute, on Saturday afternoon, Enamul Darji’s people were going to bomb the houses of Iqbal Darji and Biplab Darji along with hand grenades in buckets. When Sadar police arrived at the scene, Enamul Darji and his men escaped by leaving 5 hand grenades inside a red bucket filled with sand in the house of Keramat Ali Mir.

Later, the police recovered the bombs and informed the bomb disposal expert team in Dhaka. Later, a bomb expert team came from Dhaka and defused the bombs at Keramat Ali Mir’s house at 9 pm.

Madaripur Sadar Police Station OC AHM Salauddin said, ‘5 hand grenades kept in buckets were defused by a bomb expert team from Dhaka. Actions are being taken for legal action and arrest of those involved in this incident.’
