4 shot at polling station in Narayanganj

Four persons were reported to have been shot at the Araihazare polling station in Narayanganj. The incident took place around 10:30 am on Sunday at Ramchandi Government Primary School polling station in Araihajar.

Those who were shot are — Md. Kamal Hossain (18), Simon (17), Md. Shakib (25) and Abdur Noor.

After being shot, they were rescued and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital around 2 pm on Sunday.

Injured Abdur Noor said, ‘While standing in line to vote at the polling station, there was a clash between the two parties. Four of us got shot and got bloody injuries. Later the relatives rescued us and took us to a local hospital. Later, we were brought to Dhaka Medical Center today for advanced treatment. We are currently being treated in the emergency department.’

DMK Hospital police camp in charge. Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter by quoting the doctor. He said, ‘Four people were brought to our medical center with gunshot wounds from Narayanganj and treatment was arranged for them. Currently, they are kept under the observation of the emergency department. We have reported the matter to the concerned police station.
