Four and a half kg gold ornaments were recovered from a Bangladesh Biman flight from Sharjah at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport. This information was given in a brief press release this Saturday morning.
According to the press release, the market value of the recovered gold ornaments is 4.5 million taka.
Director of Chittagong Airport, Taslim Ahmed, said that at 8:40 in the morning, Bangladesh Biman flight BG 152 from Sharjah was searched by customs detectives. Later, the gold was recovered from under a seat.
The notification also said that the entire value of the recovered gold will be received as revenue by the Bangladesh government as it is seized through customs. The ornaments will be deposited in the treasury office.
