Police recovered 340 pieces of useless rusty bullets from a bamboo garden in Boalmari, Faridpur. The bullets were recovered from Mannan Sharif’s bamboo garden in East Rajapur village of Chatul Union of the upazila around noon on Saturday.
According to the police station, a person named Habibur Rahman went to cut a tree in Mannan Sharif’s bamboo garden in Purba Rajapur village of Chatul Union of the upazila. At that time, while digging the soil at the base of the tree, he found an iron box and later found a bullet in it and informed the local police station.
The police reached the spot on Saturday afternoon and recovered 340 pieces of bullets and took them to the police station. These are believed to be the bullets of the liberation war.
Sheikh Sadiq, OC of Boalmari police station in Faridpur, said that after receiving the information, the bullets were recovered and brought to the police station. But 340 pieces may be more or less.
Initially, it is believed that these are the saved bullets of the brave freedom fighters during the liberation war. But the bullets have rusted and become completely useless. It has no function. Legal action in this regard is under process.
