According to the Customs Intelligence Department, the flight reached Sylhet from Dubai at 8:50 am. At that time, based on secret information, the customs intelligence department searched the entire aircraft.

Later, 280 gold bars and 6 pasted gold eggs were recovered from under a seat in the plane. The estimated market value of the salvaged gold is around Tk 35 crore.

Customs sleuths say this is the biggest haul of gold ever recovered in Sylhet. According to Customs Intelligence Department, 4 passengers of the flight have been detained on suspicion of involvement in gold smuggling.
