Israel has been invading Gaza for almost 4 months. Civilian casualties are increasing gradually. The extent of the damage is indescribable. Meanwhile, the bodies of 30 Palestinians were recovered from a mass grave in a school compound in northern Gaza on Wednesday. The eyes and hands of these rotting corpses were tied.
The Palestinian Authority demanded an international investigation by accusing the Israeli forces in this incident. And the pro-independence group Hamas strongly condemned.
Israel is perpetrating unspeakable torture on Palestinian prisoners. Al-Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet, reported this with reference to the released Palestinians. The number of Palestinians killed in the Israeli invasion of Gaza has exceeded 27,000. The number of injured is more than 66 thousand.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with donor countries on the issue of funding to the United Nations Palestine Refugee Agency. He urged the countries to continue the assistance.
António Guterres said, ‘I am disappointed by Israel’s accusations against the Palestinian refugee agency. However, UNRWA is playing an important role in dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The organization is the backbone of all humanitarian operations in Gaza. So I urge everyone to continue funding the organization.’
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented that the activities of the Palestinian refugee organization must be stopped in Gaza. He suggested giving other organizations the opportunity to work instead of this organization in conducting humanitarian activities in Gaza.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said talks on a temporary ceasefire in Gaza have been constructive. He also said that the emphasis is on extending the temporary pause to facilitate the release of hostages and the delivery of relief supplies to Gaza.
Meanwhile, the US Federal Court has dismissed the case accusing US President Biden and other officials of involvement in Israel’s genocide in Gaza. The case was filed last Saturday by the Center for Constitutional Rights CCR.
