3 traders fined for keeping onion prices high in Tangail

The mobile court has fined three traders Tk 10,000 for various charges including keeping the price of onion high in Tangail and not displaying the price list. The operation was conducted at Park Bazar and District Gate Bazar in the city on Sunday afternoon.

The mobile court was presided over by District Executive Magistrate Abu Bakr Siddiqui.

Abu Bakr Siddiqui said, traders have been fined Tk 10,000 according to Agricultural Marketing Act 2018 19 for various charges including selling onions at prices higher than the fixed price, not displaying the price list.

At the same time, all the traders have been warned not to sell onions at prices higher than the fixed price and to display the price list. The District Executive Magistrate said that the operation will continue.
