3 separate cases have been registered in connection with the clash between Awami League and independent candidate activists in Santhia, Pabna. Local Awami League leaders filed two cases on behalf of Awami League candidates. And the independent candidate himself has filed another case as the plaintiff. Most of the accused in the three cases are activists and public representatives of local Awami League and organizations.
It was alleged that supporters of the boat ambushed the election campaign procession of independent candidate Prof. Abu Sayeed on Friday evening while it was passing through Santhia Bypass Road. Later, about 10 people from both sides were injured in the clash.
