Three people were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and a Mahendra vehicle at Dapadapia zero point area of Nalchiti Upazila of Jhalkathi. At least 5 others were injured in this accident.
The accident took place on the Barisal-Patuakhali regional highway around 4:30 pm on Thursday. The identity of the deceased is not yet known.
Quoting the locals, the police said, Mahendra was going to Barisal with 8 passengers in a car from Taltala area of Nalchiti upazila of Jhalkathi. At that time, the passenger bus Bepari Paribahan was going to Kuakata from Dhaka. The two vehicles collided head-on when they went to Zero Point area in Dapadapia. 2 passengers of the Mahendra car were killed.
At that time, six passengers of the car were sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital with serious injuries. Police said that the identity of the deceased has not been known so far.
Jhalkathi Superintendent of Police Afruzul Haque Tutul said that two male passengers of the Mahendra car were killed. One of the injured is in critical condition. They have been admitted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
