At least 20 people were injured after an earth-moving dump truck collided with a passenger bus at Trishmile area of ​​Satkhira-Khulna highway and the bus fell into a roadside ditch. On Friday morning, they boarded a bus (Khulna Metra-J-11-0063) from Khulna Zero Point around 12 noon to return to India. When the bus reached Kapashdanga Laskar filling station around 1:15 PM, a dump truck carrying soil from the opposite direction lost control and rammed into the front of the bus carrying them. At least 18 passengers including him, the driver of the dump truck and a pedestrian were seriously injured.

Nikhil Malakar also said that the dump truck went 100 yards north and fell into a sinkhole on the right side.

Shimul Rana, Station Officer of Satkhira Fire Service, said, ‘A team of them rescued the accident victims and admitted them to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. In the meantime, two passengers stuck in the bus were rescued by a crane.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Patkelghata police station Biplab Kumar Nath said, ‘The bus and truck involved in the accident have been recovered.’ He also said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
