Two Jatiya Party candidates have announced to withdraw from Chuadanga-1 and Chuadanga-2 constituencies in the 12th National Assembly elections.
Advocate Sohrab Hossain, the nominated candidate of Chuadanga-1 seat and Advocate Rabiul Islam, the candidate of Chuadanga-2 seat, confirmed the boycott of the election at the District Bar Association office on Wednesday afternoon.
Both of them participated in the polls with the plow symbol. Besides announcing withdrawal from the election, both the candidates have stopped campaigning in their respective constituencies.
They said that they have decided to withdraw from the election due to protesting the huge expenditure of other candidates and the non-cooperation of the central leaders of the Jatiya Party.
Blaming the party’s indecision, Zapa candidate Sohrab Hossain in the Chuadanga-1 constituency said, ‘It is not possible to survive at the expense of other candidates and due to the non-cooperation of the central leaders of the Jatiya Party, I have stopped campaigning and withdrawn from the election.’
On the other hand, Advocate Rabiul Islam said the same thing. He said, ‘We have never received any cooperation from central leaders’.
It is to be noted that Chuadanga District Jatiya Party President Advocate Sohrab Hossain from Chuadanga-1 Constituency and Secretary of Chuadanga-2 Constituency Advocate Rabiul Islam got party nomination for election. He started campaigning to participate in the election campaign. Posters of Jatiya Party’s plow symbol were also put up at various places in the two constituencies. Mikeing campaign also started.
